It’s not even 10pm, but it feels like it’s well past midnight. Bed is calling…

The air is nice and chilly, and we’re supposed to get down to 51 degrees tonight. Today was another hoodie day, and I looooooove it! Tomorrow will be the perfect zoo day– not too hot, not too cold. “TEPID,” Max would say.

For the big three-oh, Josh was awakened early by Max shoving a present in his face. :) It completely turned me into a pile of goo to hear my babies saying, “Happy Birthday, Daddy!” So very, very sweet. We got him Season 1 of Battlestar Galactica on DVD, and made him a super-cool pop-up spider card. OH, and I must not forget dinner. I made him beef stroganoff, which is significant because the boys and I can’t eat it– I had to make a separate meal for us. He deserves that and so much more; he basically ends up on a wheat-free, dairy-free diet too, since he just eats whatever I cook. He never complains, ever– and when he cooks, he’s always very conscious of our restrictions. So tonight, he got to eat something “real” — with egg noodles, real sour cream, and even garlic bread on the side. Add in the veggies and a salad, and it was a huge meal. Then, prince that he is, he did the dishes from his own special birthday dinner while I got the kids off to bed. It seems backwards that I’m the one feeling lucky and grateful– it’s his birthday. Just a happy little perk, I guess.

Have you noticed the lack of mundane and useless pictures from my camera phone? Yeah, well, it takes photos, and for a couple of days, it would send the photos elsewhere. Not so, anymore. We tried calling Sprint’s customer service, but they’ve not called back like they said they would. I’m so frustrated with it… things are JUST SUPPOSED TO WORK. Isn’t there some law, somewhere, that mandates how things should just work?

Last night I finished watching The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and as strange as it sounds, I’m disappointed that I’m disappointed in it. I wanted so much to like it, to think that it did the books justice… but it fell short by a long shot. It started out all right, but slid downhill at some point and never recovered. So sad.

I need to start working on my Halloween costume. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make an original Star Trek uniform from a pattern in a book. Something like this:

I’m not a seamstress, but I play one on TV.

  1. Impressive… surely you learned how to sew one of those in Mrs. Jenkin’s class. Or did you just do the sweatshirt?

  3. Sprint is evil… the antichrist of cellular phone and all customer service… i’m sure that i have told you the story before.. so i wont do it again here… but this just shows me that they still haven’t fixed their underlying problems.
