While browsing the web in search of wedding gifts for some friends, Josh and I happened upon this:

FRA-GEEE-LAY! It must be French! I added it to my wishlist, ‘cuz it’s just COOL. Tho, where does one put a lamp as special as this?

Also of note is this:

Who doesn’t need a Wicked Witch of the West doorstopper?

I need to start getting up early in the morning so I can write. I have a few children’s book ideas that I’m working on, but I am generally wiped out by the time the kids are in bed at night. Writing in the evening has become a struggle: I end up not only tired and frustrated, but all too aware that I’ve wasted valuable time. Mornings have never been my thing, but if I’m ever going to make any real progress, I’ve got to drag myself out of bed before the boys get up. I need to start about 6am, and maybe work my way back to 5am. Geesh.

Oooh, I am so in love with Roger Woods’ clocks. My taste is too pricy, though– my favorite ones are the most expensive. Hey, at least I’m consistent. [via BoingBoing]

Preschool is around the corner for Max. He has been asking every day, “Is this the day I go to preschool?”

Khai has gotten FAST. He runs… he climbs… he spins in circles.

The altered book I’m currently working on suffered an unfortunate fall from a table– most of the pages I’ve done ripped free from the cover (it was a glue-bound book). My dear father has given me some advice on re-binding, and I’ve also gathered a few ideas from an UNT Victorian Bookbinding site. Neat stuff, even if I don’t use it! [via Metafilter]

We’ve gotten over 5 inches of rain in the last couple of days. My plants and lawn are happy.
