It has been quite an eventful week. Max said “I love you” for the first time, and Khai smiled at me on Friday for the first time. It is the most amazing feeling when things like that happen– it’s like you can’t smile big enough and your heart is just *so* full.

We had several friends over for a movie night on Friday — it was so good to see everyone! We’d like to do something like that once a month or so; it’s hard for us to get out and do things as often as we’d like. Maybe next time we’ll do poker night, or play a huge game of Cranium or something.

While putting Max to bed this evening, I told him to close his eyes and think of happy things. Family makes us happy. Reading books, singing songs, and dancing makes us happy. Trains, blocks, and dinosaurs make us happy. I asked him if he could think of something that makes him happy, and he said, “Mama.” I almost cried! I told him that he makes me happy, too.

Both boys asleep at the same time, two days in a row now. Ohhh, so nice. Silence is still real!

Josh goes back to work tomorrow. I’m a little nervous– no back up. I’ll manage… they are good kids. :)

We had amazing thunderstorms this afternoon, accompanied by torrential downpour. Big thunder and lightning always make me think of Nancy.
