Josh’s grandparents bought us a dustbuster, and in walking by the box just a bit ago, I read “cordless vacuum” as “godless vacuum.” Hmm. I suppose maybe *all* vacuums are godless. Perhaps?

That reminds me… a couple of weeks ago, we drove past a store called “General Supply,” which I read as “Genital Supply.” My mind has not been itself lately. At least it keeps things amusing…

Less than a week to go now till the wedding… trying to get everything wrapped up and ready. I’m not panicking yet. Yet.

When I was a kid, my parents got me (ok, all three of us) a subscription to Cricket magazine… and I loved it. I read every issue cover-to-cover and couldn’t wait for the next to arrive. So… I was just remembering that today, and thought I’d go in search of a website so that I could order it for the baby (in several months…). I found out that you can order Cricket online, as well as a host of other children’s magazines they publish for all kinds of age groups. They even have a magazine for 6mos-2years, called Babybug. You can bet I’ll be ordering that one in a few months. :) Anyway, thought it was cool… looking forward to reading to baby!

I also had other mags as a kid… I remember Ranger Rick, World, and one when I was 5 that I’ve forgotten the name of. I had lots of books, too… I loved to read! My favorites were mysteries and spy stories (anyone remember Encyclopedia Brown?), and also horror stories that made me afraid to go to sleep at night. I also liked magic… I remember a book daddy bought me when I was about six– Zack and the Magic Factory. That was my first “novel,” I think. I was so proud when I finally read the whole thing! After that, I loved the Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary, and anything by Madeleine L’Engle (I recently bought the whole “A Wrinkle in Time” series and read it again).

Lately, I’ve been reading more… partially because I’m not sleeping well at night, and also because it relaxes me. I’ve recently read: Memoirs of a Geisha, Ayn Rand’s We the Living, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, and a book by Judy Blume called Summer Sisters (she writes adult books, too!). I’m currently reading the third Harry Potter book, the Catcher in the Rye, and re-reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Atlas Shrugged is HUGE, and that makes me SOOOO happy! I am a very fast reader, and there’s nothing worse than a good book ending before you’re ready for it to be over. Speaking of, I’m STILL waiting for Stephen King to finish the next book in the Dark Tower series… I’m going to have to read them all again once I start hearing rumors that the next one is ready.

So, 1 week til the wedding. 14 weeks til baby arrives (or 16 if he decides to wait and be a Leo like a good little boy!). There’s a lot to be done. I should extract myself from computerland and get busy.

ICQ finally returned to me…. distraction is a necessary evil. I have a chiropractor appointment in the morning–perhaps he can yank my neck back into place so I’ll be able to feel my right arm again (rather than these prickly-tingly-stabbing pains). Insurance is a lovely, lovely thing! I am sleepy; my work is caught up; I think there is a nap in my near future— but only *after* the drive home.

ACK! Something’s amiss…I can’t connect to ICQ. In a desperate attempt to remain in touch with the world, I tried AIM… no dice. I feel so disconnected. I don’t like this… not at all. I think I’m going to have to do some work in order to distract myself. Or, I might curl up in a ball in the corner of my office, and rock back and forth slowly, yet intently. *whimper*

Whew. I finished *all* of the shopping for wedding stuffs today. All of it! I’ve been going since 5:30AM, and I’m ready to drop. Well, drop in front of the computer, anyway…

There are baby ants on my computer desk, and I’m not exactly sure where they’re coming from. There is no food on my desk… why are they here??? I need to confuse them and cover up their little scented trail with lysol or something. This calls for some devious and subvertive measures.

My birthday was last week, and so I bought myself a present with some of the money I was given by various relatives and sweet people and such… a ’sound spa’ noise machine. :) I hope it will help me sleep. For some reason, I haven’t been sleeping well at all— although I think it’s just because I can’t get comfortable (hey, there’s a baby in my belly!). Anyway, I wake up 10-15 times a night and it takes me quite a while to fall back asleep. I’ve been waking up before the alarm–and that’s Twilight Zone stuff for me. I hope this will help! If nothing else, maybe the water noises will make Josh wet the bed, and I’ll get a good laugh out of it. Oh, wait… no… we share the bed…. NO!!!

I also bought other “me” stuff (which is really cool, because I don’t buy “me” stuff very often): super-shiny lip gloss, some perfume, and some blue-bath-powder (don’t ask—it’s a college flashback). I also found prego clothes on sale! I have a new cardigan, and a new pair of pants. Both black, of course. Muahahaaa… I love black.

It was a good week– busy, but good. Hormones are weird. I have been particularly bitchy lately. I’d rather be bitchy than depressed, though. *grin* Katie laughs at me and says she likes me better this way. heh.

Josh’s grandparents gave us a ton of STUFF today… lots of baby stuff, a dustbuster (woohoo!), a WWII-era tool storage thingy for Josh to keep in the garage… and they fed us, too!

We’re accumulating quite a stash of baby supplies— which is good. We only have three-and-a-half months to go… Baby is getting really strong, and is moving a LOT. He has a rigorous schedule of acrobatics and boxing during the day, and then dancing, kickboxing, and aerobics in the evening. I try to sing and talk to him while he’s awake, and Josh is trying to teach him Morse code. I need name input! Gimme thoughts on: Caelon Max Davis, Maximilian Khalil Davis, Maximilian Johnston Davis, and any others you might think of.

My Applysauce jumped 7′0″ yesterday—at his first track meet of the year, no less! OMG! That’s a new Oklahoma state record. *beaming* I’m so proud…. daddy has promised to email pics soon. Tonight is also his senior prom, so maybe I’ll get some pics of him all spiffed up, too.

Speaking of…. we bought Joshy’s suit today… it looks very, very sharp! :) :) He cleans up real nice. hehehe

I’m kinda grumpy right now, although I think it’s just my awakedness rubbing off to let my dark exhaustedness show through. Josh should be home from work soon. Let’s hope for his sake that I can subdue the crankiness long enough to fall asleep.

AND, I need a new design SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. I keep putting it off because there is so much other stuff that kind of takes priority right now…. but this is really bugging me. Hmmph.
